I have been a coupon fanatic for about a year and a half now. We had just made some major changes in our life with my husband working and goes to school full time and I quit my job to stay home and take care of our 2 year old and grow our new addition. This were tight and still are. However, I am a firm believer that people should coupon no matter where they are financially in life. Everyone can benefit from more money!
Couponing is not for the faint of heart though. It can be confusing at first but like most worth while things, the more you do it, the better you get. From the help of couponing blogs out there and some digging on my own I have become a coupon queen. I hope to share with you every week how to go about couponing and hopefully answer questions and provide support and enthusiasm as you start your couponing journey!
Here is a little glimpse into a shopping trip I took yesterday:
A break down:
4 24 packs of Frigos Cheese sticks on sale half off for $3.74 (used 4 $1.00/1 coupons doubled)
10 containers of Weight Watchers yogurt on sale for $0.60 a piece (used 2 $1.00/5 coupons doubled)
1 package of Nestle Toll House cookie dough on sale for $2.50 (used $1.00/1 coupon doubled)
2 Trix yogurts on sale for 2/$4.00 (used $0.75/2 coupon doubled)
1 jar of Olive Oil on sale for $5.62 (used $1.00/1 coupon doubled)
2 Pillsbury cresent rolls $2.09 a piece (used $1.00/2 coupon)
1 box Quaker instant oatmeal on sale for $2.49 (used $1.00/1 coupon doubled)
3 packs of Trident gum on sale for 2/$2.00 (used $1.00/3 coupon doubled)
Rainbow had a deal where if you bought 8 participating items you would get them for $1.88 a piece. I did two of these deals.
6 boxes of Kelloggs Fiber Plus bars $1.88 a piece (used 2 $1.00/3 coupons doubled)
4 boxes of Kelloggs Mini Wheats $1.88 a piece (used 2 $1.00/2 coupons doubled)
1 box of Fiber Plus cereal $1.88 (used $1.00/1 coupon doubled)
2 boxes of Nutri Grain bars $1.88 a piece (used $1.00/2 coupon doubled)
2 boxes of Kelloggs Fruit Crips $1.88 a piece (used $1.00/2 coupon doubled)
1 jar of Eggos syrup $1.88
The grand total that I spent was $37.06
The grand total that I saved was $79.54
That is about 70% saved!
Can't beat that!
