Great Grandparent Gift

Happy Tuesday All!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I had a great couple of days doing some thirft store shopping.

Pictures to come!

Today, is the reveal of the project that I wanted to complete on Saturday but instead was confined to my house because of a major blizzard. Brrrr!

I wanted to get my kiddos Grandparents a good gift that they would like.

I went to Menards, went to the remnants bin, and got some wood.

Then I went home, cut the wood in 10", 6" and 1 1/2" blocks. After sanding them, I painted them.

I used some frezzer paper to stencil on the words (although a word of caution, paint with spray paint not regular paint and a brush. It does leak through and then it takes so much longer to fix where the paint leaks through. Also, the paper can stick to the wood making it hard to peel off.)

After that long ordeal, I printed out the pictures, mod podged them onto the blocks, and then finished off with sanding and staining. This is what I got!

Cute no?!

When my husband saw what the writting said he commented "And Stress." But hopefull, they think the "Sunshine!"

Hope this inspires!

Check out my side bar for link parties I join!

  1. A public apology is being issued on Life in Rehab for the lovely award that you were kind enough to give me that I flagrantly and thoughtlessly failed to acknowledge. I’m of course linking to your blog and taking suggestions as to how I can make amends. Please pop by if you’re still speaking to me.
