Hiatus!

Sorry fellow blog readers! I can NOT believe that my last post was 2 1/2 months ago! What happened? Here is my list of excuses:
1. Waited until my master bedroom became my craft room / children's play room
2. Went to Florida (again) to see my padre and sister
3. Despised my camera and desperately wanted a new one
4. Waited patiently for our tax return so I could purchase said camera
5. Decided that purchasing things to craft was actually more fun then crafting itself
6. My sister moved in with her two kids and said craft room became obsolete and then I was forced to confront the mass amount of things I had purchased
7. Now I am here with you!

Again, I apologize, but enough of that let's get on with crafting!

Along time ago, a very good family friend gave me and my husband their old entertainment center and TV. We were just starting out and this gift was very well received. After 6 long moves, we settled into our mobile home and it just did not work with our layout in our living room.
After a fabulous find at a thrift store, a $10 find, we found a perfect corner unit for our TV. So, sadly, the entertainment center needed to be recycled. I told my husband that I desperately wanted the cabinet doors to the center.

So here is the entertainment center. I showed you a picture hoping you would get an idea of what the cabinet doors looked life before because of course, I forgot to take a before picture!

Here is the cabinet door half way done. This is a prime example of starting something, doing something to it, not liking it and trying again!

I started out with the board being that solid stone color. I spray painted the key holder I had stone as well, and added that fun galvanized metal (with magnets) that I found at our local thrift store for $1.50. I must say that it was blah blah blah. I brought it over to a friends, riped it apart, and she let me use some of her spray paint to do the flowers, the key holder and the brown background.

But I still did not like it. So I decided that I was going to do the whole thing brown. So I riped it apart one more time and spray painted the back.

Now this is what I ended up with:

And I LOVE IT!!!!!

Is it not the most adorable thing you have ever seen?

How can you not smile when you see this?

And it looks so fabulous up against my red wall!

Proof that you should never settle if you don't really like something!
