Transformed Room

Happy Saturday All!

I know a few posts back I mentioned that we were getting bunk beds so I was transforming my boy's room. I finally got around to taking some pictures (the room was finally clean) so I thought that I would share today!

Yay!

Lets start with the before pictures:

When we first moved in we didn't want to paint their room a blue color because we wanted it a neutral color. We went with sage and dark brown because that is what we had  (we painted another room that color). This room is really tiny so being that color made the room look even smaller. This picture was taking last year, before my sister moved in and we had a separate room for toys. Once she moved in we had to put a toy chest in the room.

We put the toy chest where the dresser is in the above picture and the dresser went between the beds. So in essence there was very little room to play or do anything.

Dark and tiny.

It need a face lift.

So after painting the walls a light grey color, adding bunk beds, cleaning out the toy chest and adding more organization, adding the book shelf and a coat rack this is how it turned out:

Welcome to the new and improved room! I love the grey and if ever we have a girl and need to move the boys out, it would look fabulous with pink!

Our beautiful and amazing bunk beds! They need a coat of polyurethane but we will do that in the summer, when we can open the windows. I love it to because there is just enough room for the dresser!

I found the shelf/coat rack at the Salvation Army for $2.00. It is so nice to have a place to hang their coats and the little bins holds small gloves and hats!

The toy bin I painted. I hated the idea of a ton of loose toys inside of the chest so it holds all big toys and bins with smaller toys in them. I got the red circular bins at the dollar store and they hold all the miscellaneous toys. Toys get played with now instead of hidden at the bottom of the chest.

All in all I LOVE LOVE the room.

I need to add pictures on their walls along with some other fabulous things but all in good time.

I hope you love the room as much as I do and hopefully are inspired!

Check out my side bar for link parties I join!

  4. Love it! I have three boys and two of them share a room. Sometimes it's the older two who share, and sometimes the younger two. We've had so many arrangements, twin beds, twin bunks, loft over twin...I'm all about organization with shelves and bins, too! Their room looks great so far : )
