Forgetful

Who else here is forgetful?

I am getting worse and worse.

I forget to pay bills, I forget doctors appointments, I haven't forgotten any children but I am sure that that will come.

After forgetting the millionth bill and having to pay a late fee I decided that I needed to do something about it.

I also have no system in terms of chores, my children are still young, but it would be nice to have one in place because they won't be little forever.

So I went out to Walmart and I purchased a white board (because they are magnetized).

I got an inspiration from people who make decorative magnets from those large beads that you can get at the dollar store.

With a little paper and my Cricut, this is what I came up with:

The top is a calendar. It is laminated so I can erase and write as much as I please. The bottom is the chore chart.

Each little pebble has a chore on it, ie do laundry, clean bathroom etc. They are magnetized so once it is completed, it gets moved to the done side. This works really great for when my hubby comes home and needs something to do! He knows what is done and what needs to get done.

I hung it up with the magnets that is came with. I have no room on my fridge so I took two of the magnets and stuck them to the board and then the other two magnets I stuck to the cabinets right in front of our door. That way we see it when we walk in AND I can take it off the wall every time I need to write on it.

I did prime and paint the edges so they weren't metallic silver. I know, I am a party pooper but I really like how the whole thing turned out.

FYI: if you try the magnets laminate them first the hot glue them to the pebbles. If you try mod podge and then stick them to the pebbles, the colors bleed. I also learned mod podge and laminated paper don't work together.

All in all I am happy with it and the organization should help me stay on track.

I hope.
