Window Transformation

So I love, LOVE, LOVE thrift stores.

Going in, finding things at rediculously low prices.

It is quite a thrill!!

Anyways, my friend Megan, from A Little Knick Knack made this fabulous window, and I thought 'I can do that!'

So I set out to find one.

The one I found was pathetic! I mean really bad.

I, of course, did not take a picture of it before hand, but it was this off white and blue mess and these lovely birds were the background

(I did snag a picture of them!)

Ewww, right!

Anyways, I also snaged this lovely lantern at Good Will for $1.50.

I decided that I was going to spray paint it, so I took out all the glass and got it ready...

After spray painting the window frame with my dear friend Megan (click on the link to see a picture of how that went down), I put all the pieces together.

I modge podged fabric over the birds, spray painted the lantern yellow, and this is what I got!

I love it! I have this new love for yellow and deep red. I think they look so nice together. I plan on hanging this up in our room, but for right now, it's home is on the book shelf in the living room!

Not bad seeing how the window was $3.00 and the lantern was $1.50!

  1. So cute! I love the fabric! And the yellow works so well. Linked this up to some fun parties for ya! You need to add the parties little icons, though. I know! I'm bad. If you don't want to, I get it! Very cute, tho. Love it!
