Wine Cork Board

So close so close! We are getting so close to 50 followers!
I hope that everyone noticed that I am giving not one but two wallets away!
So please, please, PLEASE make sure that you enter!
Thank you to all that have supported me already! I really wish that I could give one to all of you!

Sorry for the lack in postings but I have been busy doing lots of crafting!
But I am excited to bring you my finished product from these fabulous finds!

Remember these amazing finds?! Well I wanted to make a wine cork board and I was thrilled when I found both of these items at a local thrift store!

I had seen some one make a cork board with wine corks at a B&B that I love in Jordan MN and have wanted to make something similar ever since.

I spray painted the metal pan and then glued the corks with a hot glue gun. Once that was finished I really didn't like the light color of the corks, I wanted something more elegant and darker so I found this stain at Michaels and stained and wiped until I got the color that I wanted.

See, corks are a little too light.

Next while I was at JoAnn's Fabrics I found this HOME sign for $0.25 and picked it up not really knowing what I was going to do with it.

After deciding that it would look FABULOUS on my cork board I painted it white, stained it, didn't like the stain, repainted it white and sanded it until I got the right look!

Then I used Elmers cement glue and about 9 mega stick magnets so that I could stick it on my fridge and got:

I cleaned up the other stuff that I put on my fridge because I like the simplicity of the cork board with the magnets.

I really love how it turned out!
Now all I have to do is make some fun tacks and it is complete. I am thinking about holiday festive ones so I can change them out!

Check out my side bar for link parties I joined today!

  1. It looks great! I've always wanted to make one, but I don't buy anything that comes with corks in them. Maybe my parents will save me theirs. I love that yours is also a magnet.

  7. Hi there!
Just wanted to say how much I love your cork board! I'm not much of a wine drinker either but I think I will have to head down to the U-brew and pick up some corks! Congrats on getting the 50 followers!
